About Us

Surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, exploring, staying active, cooking local cuisines, and traveling are ways we love to spend time together. We reside in New York, but when we can get away and connect with nature, we come to the Osa Peninsula.

When I completed veterinary school, I was in search of a special place to vacation where I could surf and be surrounded by wildlife. After my first visit to the Osa I was hooked! A couple of other vets and I purchased this wild jungle property and decided to build homes here. Our goal was to develop as little of the property as possible in hopes that we can live in harmony with nature. Set back from the ocean to allow travel corridors for all the wildlife, three of the of the four homes on the 20-acre property are affiliated with the yoga center. It’s not uncommon to see all four species of primates here in one day along with wild birds, mammals and of course unique insects. We have built a system of trails throughout the property so you can stealthily slip through the forest hoping to catch an anteater or a scarlet macaw.

My wife, Megan, and I aim to provide an eco-luxury mini resort that is truly off the grid, harnessing much of its energy from the sun. Our family is growing and we want to continue bringing them to this special place, in hopes that they can share the childhood experiences with their children someday. Watching a troupe of monkeys and suddenly seeing a toucan fly in to grab a papaya, all while sitting in the pool, is exactly the experiences our girls will always remember!

In 2020, we decided to develop a retreat-focused atmosphere. We cannot yet spend as much time in Costa Rica as we would like, so we set out to design a yoga retreat center. Casa Sirena, the property’s centerpiece, and the large yoga platform located right off the beach in our coconut grove were both completed in 2022. We want retreat guests to fall in love with being surrounded by nature, water, trees and wildlife as they practice yoga or meditate.

We look forward to sharing Sacred Sombrero with you!
